Ruby Princess - March 5, 2023

I have not been on a Princess cruise for a long time. This is my 3rd Princess Cruise. They use a Medallion for opening doors and purchasing things and for boarding the ship. I got the Medallion a couple weeks prior to cruise and when I boarded, I pretty much walked on board. I had filled out everything online for boarding and there was no boarding document needed like with Carnival. My cabin was considered an interior but actually it was an exterior with what they call Ocean View "Obstructed" on Lido deck. Convenient to pools and buffet. I liked the cabin, it had motion detected lights below the night stands and the closet area. The TV was bigger than mine at home. Also, movies on demand, no charge. The app they use for dinner reservations and opening your cabin door, also allowed you to order food and drinks to anywhere on board. Also gave info on events for the day. Pretty handy.

I found a lot of things I liked about Princess. They did not charge me double for the cabin as I usually pay when traveling alone. Also the drink package that was supposed to be $420 included Drinks, Gratuities for Cabin Staff and others and WIFI. When I got them to add it to my cabin it only cost $350!!

Using the app I could order food and drinks for anywhere on board except show room. It was also for room service. I liked the few programs they had I had not ever seen on other cruises. One event was about Pirates, and the two presenting it with slide show was great. Also there was an event called "Hollywood Hiccups" It was funny, they showed a picture from a movie and then they had the assistants to cruise director come out and put on very silly skits to show you the scene was about. It was hilarious.

I tried to most days get in my half mile on the treadmill and then 10 laps in the pool. Also, some other therapy things in pool. The pool was pretty cold, but I managed to brace it and then hit the Hottub. STILL GAINED 10 LBS!! Of course with free drinks and all the buffets, dining room, room service and food delivered anytime anywhere, might have had something to do with that.

I enjoyed my excursion with the dolphins and then playing with us and pushing us and pulling us. It was great fun and we also got free lunch and drinks. My excursion for Sailing Catamaran and Snorkeling was not as much fun. They had free drinks, but very old Catamaran and they had replaced engines with electric and they only pushed about 3 knots. Also the jib was torn and the new one was not installed, so we were a while getting to snorkeling place.
